A prototype of the "Smart Jacket", a device that captures ECG and respiration (diaphragmatic electro myography) using comfortable textile electrodes, will be demonstrated during the symposium. The measured signals are processed and send wirelessly by the Dipha to a tablet PC. The design allows almost maximal skin-to-skin contact between the premature infant and his mother. In this way the Smart Jacket contributes to a healthy mother child bonding of these infants that are prone for developmental impairments.
